I’m a passionate creator who finds an immense amount of joy in the results of my work, be it a simple web page design to a complex user interaction or a large hand coded data driven application, seeing a product of my creation utilised & appreciated gives me a great sense of pride in what I do, motivates me to do more & ultimately makes me the designer/developer I am today.
I’m a keen communicator who enjoys interacting with other like minded people, sharing knowledge & ideas, then collaborating to see those ideas realised. I thrive on feedback form my clients, peers & the people for whom my creations affect the most. I take what I’ve learned into subsequent challenges in order to continue improving & evolving my skills.
I’m courteous & professional at all times & I do my utmost to convey this with great dignity & pride.
As a freelance Web Developer I’ve had the opportunity to work with many amazing & talented people, however I’ve missed the collaborative spirit that can only be found when working as a member of a team. While I enjoy the freedoms that come with being an independent contractor, I would like to continue to ply my trade in a team environment, to expand my skill set & improve on the attributes that I already possess.
As a member of a highly motivated & dedicated team I feel that my true qualities can be better exploited & pushed to reach their full potential. As someone who takes a great deal of pride in their work I’d like to be known for the products I had a hand in producing, therefore I’d like to work with a team who feel the same.
My aim is to shift my focus from managing a business whilst developing to becoming a dedicated designer/developer.

Communication & Client Relationship Strengths: Over the course of my working life I have developed strong communication, expectation management & organisational skills, I have successfully operated & managed my own businesses & forged exceptional relationships with both my clients & colleagues alike. I have an excellent rapport with all of my clients & I’m held in high regard for my ability to communicate on a level that the less technical minded can be comfortable with.
Global leader in pet health & nutrition.
Primary Role: I was recruited by Royal Canin in 2010 to develop their Australian & New Zealand based web sites.
Technical Brief: As per specification set by Royal Canin global HQ, both web sites were deployed on eZPublish (http://ez.no) & required all brand specific content to be distributed via their centralised International Content Database (ICD) & aggregated to each web site on a predefined schedule. I was also responsible for the development of numerous eZPublish extensions to allow Royal Canin to communicate with their loyal customers & provide training content to their Veterinarian affiliates.
Why Me: Royal Canin sourced my services for my expertise with eZPublish.
Largest dedicated coater of aluminium in Australia.
Primary Role: I was approached by AAF to re-develop & re-purpose their existing web site to be more attractive, user friendly & relevant to members of their industry.
Technical Brief: Apart from a complete ground up re-design I was asked to develop a Product Warranty Management System capable of distributing, tracking & maintaining warranties for multi-million dollar building projects. Incorporating an advanced product specification system with a rich GUI powered by prototype.js + scriptaculous, designed to aid builders, specifiers & architects in the selection & specification of various products.
Why Me: I was selected by recommendation.

He is an exceptional communicator with a notable rapport with everyone he deals with and he is always willing to go beyond expectation. Nathan is the consummate professional who cares deeply about the work he does and the people he works with. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Nathan.

Primary Role: I originally began working for Chroma in 2002 while at Infinite Eye, our main role at that time was to maintain a very old code base with a plan to re-develop the web site on a powerful CMS.
Technical Brief: Aside from the general day-to-day maintenance of the existing web site (until it was decommissioned in 2003) I was charged with selecting, testing & finally implementing a powerful, future proof CMS. eZPublish (http://ez.no) was selected over Drupal as the platform that would carry Chroma’s flagship products into the new era. To this day the web site is still running the latest stable version of eZPublish & during it’s life span I have been charged with the development of uncountable customisations, feature additions & upgrades from web logs to forums to a competition management subsystems to a massive “My Space” style web site subsystem for members of Chroma’s Teacher & Artist Partner Program to advanced geolocation powered stockist & teacher database search engines... & the list goes on.
Why Me: Infinite Eye was initially sourced through mutual connections for previous work carried of for various not for profit charities and organisations. I continued to service Chroma after leaving Infinite Eye due to my intimate knowledge of the web sites inner workings.
